American Apparel actually uses 100% cotton of the highest quality and there is probably hundreds and hundreds of companies who print on their products or also Alternative Apparel's products. The images they use in my opinion are supposed to show the raw aspect of the clothing allowing the buyer to interpret the piece in any way and making it available to be used in any way. Yes the images are fairly "sexual" but they definitely aren't the most sexual ads out there if you think about it! As for being "hipster" I'm sure there are tonnes more people in the universe that wear American Apparel other than just the typical hipsters.I heard you out, just stating my opinion on your rant! I get what you mean about the raw aspect but I think there are much better ways of going upon it if that is in fact what they’re going for. haha I was just speaking about their mass group of buyers bc there def are other buyers like you said :) and thank you hun<3

rant about American Apparel advertisements
I find their advertising so demeaning. They use pornographic type photography to sell cheaply made clothing in which the clothing can hardly be seen due to the provocative pose of the model in each advertisement. have some fucking respect for your company. It’s appalling that they use such grotesque images to represent their company. You’re a clothing company for hipsters- unoriginal, over-priced, cheap clothing for hipsters. You are not a sex-based company, therefore your advertisements are so sexual solely for a reason I could never be able to find to justify them. It is not artistic and as a woman it’s degrading when a clothing company breaks us down into nothing more than a sexual object irrelevant to the company being represented and clothing being sold. I understand that the models choose to be shot that way and that’s fine. I’ve stopped shopping there for that reason, never mind, as I mentioned, how over-priced and cheap the clothes are. I have no respect for that company and I don’t think I’ve ever lost respect for any clothing company, big or small, before. end rant.
